The demo marks the first time in two years in which Clinton will explain his proven process for starting a young horse under saddle with a live audience. With the experience of starting hundreds of horses, Clinton’s colt starting method is based on safety for the horse and the rider and focuses on properly preparing the colt with groundwork exercises to guarantee a safe first ride. During the demonstration, Clinton will share desensitizing and sensitizing exercises he uses to ensure a colt is respectful, calm and willing. Unlike traditional colt starting methods, Clinton uses an assistant during the horse’s first three rides to make the experience less stressful for the colt, and will have Professional Clinician Shana Terry on hand to help demonstrate to the crowd the benefits of using a helper.

Following Clinton’s colt starting demo, spectators can shop the giant Best of the West trade show and cheer for the championship contenders in the Non-Pro Snaffle Bit Futurity Finals. The Friday night action also includes the Celebrity Fence Work, featuring Nashville recording artist Trent Willman; Tom McMillan, star of the “Tom’s Wildlife” show on GAC; and western ballad singer Juni Fisher.
